Classification and tasks

The Centre for Information and Media Technology (ZIM) is a central operating unit of the Heinrich Heine University that offers ICT services for research, teaching, studies and administration and operates high-performance ICT infrastructures for this purpose. In accordance with the decision of the Rectorate of 01.02.2007, the ZIM replaced the University Computer Centre and is a service and competence centre for all technical aspects of digital information supply and processing, digital communication and the use of digital media (IKM).

The technical and functional tasks of the ZIM are described in the IKM concept of the Heinrich Heine University.
